"I would highly recommend Greg Dorsey. My husband and I were debating selling our West Newton home or renovating. We love our neighborhood but needed more room. We contacted Greg for an evaluation of our home’s worth. It was clear from the questions he asked that he has a very good understanding of the Newton real estate market. Within 24 hours, Greg gave us a market analysis complete with his very detailed and sound reasons for why we should not sell our home! Although the data told us that we would make money (as compared to our original buying price) on a sale, it also told us that finding a home similar in quality to ours and in a similar location in our school district would be very difficult despite the equity we'd gained, we trusted Greg's advice and instead of selling and moving, we opted to maximize the property’s value by creating more living space to accommodate the family. In my experience, real estate agents often just think about the commission they will earn instead of how to benefit the homeowner with Greg, you definitely get the feeling that you are working with someone who is honest and really just wants what is best for you. We loved his ideas and asked for recommendations for builders to use. He gave us a list of vendors to choose from which included the vendor who worked on his own home, and we asked for bids from both some of those vendors and from some recommended by our architect. In the end, Greg's recommended vendor won out the bid was very, very competitive, and we'd found someone who we knew we would work well with (and we checked five references)."
